Thanksgiving Dinner for 1

Ok, so I know that it's not "socially" acceptable to be ok with being alone...but I am. I mean don't get me wrong I would like to get married and have a family of my own like most of my friends...but...I have recently discovered that I am happy even though I am alone. The holiday season is always a hard one to do alone. But tonight I will be having Thanksgiving dinner alone. I miss my family terribly but I am actually kinda looking forward to having dinner on my own. It's all about making lemonade out of lemons. I have TONS of homework to do so I will be working on that and fixing a turkey dinner for 1.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord has a plan for me. I know who I am and for the first time in my life I know exactly where I'm going. Every once in a while I do get a little sad about being alone but then I have a little talk with my mom and she reassures me that I never would have been able to do all I have been able to do if I had a family. And she just tell me to be patient and things will happen in their own time...aka the Lord's time :o)...

I have a WONDERFUL life and I love living it!!! So to all my friends that I know worry about me...I'm a very happy person!! And thank you so much for caring about me. It was my Stake President that told me: "Be patient...Eternal things take time!" So here I sit as patient as possible! I know that things will work out just the way they are suppose to as long as I keep doing everything I am supposed to be doing.

2 month update...

Well I've been at my new apartment for about 2 months now and boy has it been an adventure. I had a hard time at first but I'm getting more and more comfortable. I have been making TONS of new friends. It was all a little overwhelming but it's been good for me. I have learned a lot about my own strength.

School has been a challenge but I guess it wouldn't be worth it if it wasn't. I am working really hard. It has seemed to have taken over my life these days. I work full-time while taking 5 classes. I am doing really well in all my classes except Biology. I just can't seem to get it. I am just trying to pass these days...haha...I figured I will focus on the subject I will be teaching, History, and leave the science to the science teachers! I am getting close and I can see the end in sight. :o)

Here are a couple of pictures of some new friends:

Two of my new friends: Lyndsi and Meghan

I know it's hard to see...but this is me and Lyndsi sneaking into a cop car...heehee...
I know that I haven't been the best at keeping up with this blog but my life has just been so consumed with school these days...so that's all for now... :o)

Labor Day Vaca

So for Labor Day weekend I went home. It was so fun to be with my family for a weekend. I have gotten into the habbit of going hoome for that holiday. I got so much done while I was there. I cleaned out my storage unit. In the process I got to go through all of my old stuff. It was so much fun to go down memory lane. I also through practically everything away...haha...I kept about 2 boxes and that was about it!

I had not been having a good time so I needed to get away for awhile before school the madness of school started. Here are some pictures of my family:

My cute mom and Dad befor going to bed...haha...

My teenage sister, Sara...

And my Mom and her beautiful garden...

Timpanogas Gateway...

HEY
I have finally moved!!! My new place is a MESS but as soon as I get all moved in it will look super nice!! I have lost the cord that hooks my camera up to my computer so I can't show you any pictures at the current time. But never fear I will post some soon!! I am so blessed to be able to live in such a wonderful place!

On Wednesday the new semester starts and I can't wait to get going! It will be a busy time for me but I am ready to embrace it! I will be taking 5 classes this semester. And once the semester is over I will only have 4 more semesters to go...haha...

Congrats to my mom who is almost done. She will graduate in April with a medical computer something or other. She's smart and I'm so proud of her for doing it. She's wanted to go back for a long time and now after all her hard work she's almost done!

This Friday I will be making the trip up to the Great Northwest to visit the fam. And I can't wait!!! I miss them terribly! I haven't seen them since January so it will be fun to catch up. My sister is going to be turning 17 in a couple of months and she is going to be starting her Junior year in high school next week. I can't believe and fast she is growing up!! She is taller than me now :o(...but it's not like I'm huge or anything so we all new that that would happen! haha

Anyways...that's all for now...I will post lot's of fun pics next week after I get back from Washington! :o)

Good Luck to all those starting school soon...have fun! heehee...

New Theme Song...for this point in my life!!...

Chris Daughtry
Over You

Now that it’s all said and done
I can’t believe you were the one
To build me up and tear me down
Like an old abandoned house
What you said when you left
Just left me cold and out of breath
I felt as if I was in way to deep
Guess I let you get the best of meeee

(Chorus)
Well I never saw it coming
I should have started running
A long, long time agooo!
And I never thought I’d doubt you
I’m better off without you
More than you, more than you know
I’m slowly getting closure
I guess it’s really over
I’m finally gettin’ better
Now I’m picking up the pieces
From spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together
‘Cause the day I thought I’d never get through
I got over you!!!
(End Chorus)

You took a hammer to these walls
Dragged the memories down the hall
Packed your bags and walked away
There was nothing I could say,
And when you slammed the front door shut
A lot of other’s opened up
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for meee

(Chorus)
Well I never saw it coming
I should have started running
A long, long time agooo!
And I never thought I’d doubt you
I’m better off without you
More than you, more than you know
I’m slowly getting closure
I guess it’s really over
I’m finally getting’ better
Now I’m picking up the pieces
From spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together
‘Cause the day I thought I’d never get through
I got over you!!!
(End Chorus)

I never saw it coming
I should have started running
A long, long time agooo
And I never thought I’d doubt you
I’m better off without you

And I never saw it coming
I should have started running
I’m finally getting better
Now I’m picking up the pieces
From spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together
And I got over you!!!
And I got over you!!!
And I got over you!!!

The day I thought I’d never get through
I got over you…

other random thoughts from that past month...

In all this past month has been exciting and a learning experience for me!...I am getting ready to move soon. I know that it's the right time but I am sad that things are changing! I don't handle change well but I'm working on being better at that. Things have really fallen into place as far as school goes. I'm SUPER excited for the upcoming semester but a little nervous! I am going to be taking 15 credits and working 38.5 hours a week...CRAZY...I know that I won't have much of a life. But I've discovered that you really make time in your life for the things and the people that are truly important to you!

I am about to embark on a new adventure. I am excited to see what life has in store for me. I truly believe that the Lord puts you in a place where you will learn the most. And now I feel it's time for me to move on and learn something different from new people. I have LOVED living at Alta and have learned soooo much about myself from the people I have met there. I have made some truly lasting friendships there. I guess I just want people to know that I feel so blessed for the experiences that I have had in my life the past 5 years. Change is always hard. But I'm learning that it is necessary if I want to grow. I feel really good about my move to the Timpanogas Gateways Condos.

I never realized how much crap one acquires after living so long in one place! haha I have thrown out so much stuff...I'm so proud of myself!! haha It's fun to look through all of my old stuff though. It brings back so many old memories. I've decided that sometimes packing can be fun. But I can't wait to unpack in my new place!! YEAY....well thanks for listening :o)

BYU Intramural Champs!

On August 7, the intramural softball team that I play on played in the Championship game. And we WON!!! We were undefeated in the tournament. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well that day at all!! But I tried to play my best. We had a blast playing together! Everyone on our team really got along well and played well together! And we were even down 3 people at the last game and we still won...YEAY for us!

Oh and...we got these really cool T-shirts that say that we are Champions...just in case other people didn't already know...haha...

Manti Temple Trip

Well on August 2 our ward went to the Manti Temple. It was a WONDERFUL experience!! I just love that Temple! There is sooo much history there. Before our session we met with the Temple President and his wife for a half and hour. I was asked to say the opening pray...and for those of you who know about my "Public Prayer History" know that it didn't go as planned! haha...I figured that since I was in the Temple that everything would go great!...my bad...I was humbled. The actual prayer went fine BUT as I was walking down the stairs I slipped...haha...just my luck. I did catch myself before my face actually hit the ground. :o)

Here are a few pictures from the day. Sister Tracy wouldn't let me a picture of her though...

In all I enjoyed my trip down to Manti very much!!

July 24th

Well I can honestly say that I had never heard of Pioneer Day until I moved to Utah. I guess it being a Utah holiday was the reason for this. Anyway, I LOVE fireworks so I went down to Spanish Fork and watch some great fireworks with my best friend Allysa and her husband. We had a great time. Here are some pics of the night:

Allysa and I waiting patiently for the show to begin! :o)

These are some pics of the actual fireworks...

So as of today I am moving in 1 month. I am super excited. I mean I have loved living in Alta but in my new place I will have a TON more room and a washer and dryer in my apartment...YEAY...don't worry I will for sure post pics of my new place...AND school starts in a month...I'm excited to get back into the swing of things! I will also being home for a little visit for labor day weekend...so basically the last week in August will be the busiest of my life...haha...to this point anyways...I'm looking forward to all the excitement though!! :o)

My Birthday...

So the day before my birthday was the day between Meredith Ashton (a good friend) and my birthday so we made each other a cake and boy was it delicious. I made her this Chocolate Carmel cake and she made me a Better Then Sex cake...it was fun!!

My birthday was on Tuesday the 8th. I'm old now...haha... I did have a great birthday though!! I went to work and then got off around 2. Then went swimming and worked on my tan for a little bit. Then I met up with a bunch of my friends at Red Robin for dinner. I LOVE RED ROBIN. The thing is that I have only ever order the same thing there even though it's my favorite...I shocked the entire table and ordered a different burger...haha...and to my own surprise it was pretty good!!

Then after dinner we went back to my apartment and had a party with a bunch of friends. It was a lot of fun!

Elise (my old roommate just found out that she is having a boy...yeay for her!...I thought that she might be having twins but no such luck...haha...

Matt Chambers made an appearance at my party too...it has been a long time since I saw him so I was happy that he was able to come for a little bit!!

And Sarah and Melanie (old roommates) and of course Matt being goofy in the back.

And I got 21 message on facebook of people wishing me a happy birthday. I feel so loved!!! It was a great birthday and I had so much fun with all my friends!! Thanks so much for all you do!!!

The 4th of July

Ok, so my 4th was tons of fun!! My old roommate Sarah called me very early to drag my lazy butt out of bed to go to the parade. So we rode our bikes down to Center street and watched the parade for about 2 hours. You know it just amazes me that some people will spend the night on Center Street just to get a good place to watch the parade. I've been in parades and they are not THAT interesting. But to each their own!

Then after the parade we made our usual trip to burger supreme (we did this same thing last year in case you were wondering). Burger supreme was ABSOLUTELY wonderful!! Then we went swimming and caught some rays. Then after that we went the the pre-show party in the Stadium parking lot and went crazy getting free stuff!! And we met some celebrities...haha...well sort of...These guys are a couple of BYU football players...nice huh...haha...well they said that they would only take a picture with us if we knew some kids that would come to their football camp...of course we said that we did...not entirely ture...but oh well...haha...

And yes Sarah had to get her picture taking with Elvis...when the king is around it's a must...

And of course we can't forget Smokey the Bear...haha...I think i'm more excited about my free hotdog that I got...haha...

Then the fireworks. Allysa and Richard and Natalie and Phil (both were my roommates before recently getting married) came down to watch the fireworks from the grass by Alta.

In all it was a really good 4th of July. I love this holiday because it's such a wonderful thing to celebrate independence. Freedom is something that I think that a lot of us take for granted. It's really hard not to I will admit but I think that it is important that we, as a country are truly thankful for the freedom that so many gave their lives for!

YEAY for UVU...

Well it's official...I now attend a University. In case you were all dying to know, on Tuesday UVSC (Utah Valley State College) officially became Utah Valley University. It's pretty exciting...to me anyway. On Monday night was the big celebration. It was alright. Josh Gracin, Colin Raye, and Joe Nichols were all there to preform. Colin Raye was my favorite! He did such a good job!! The other 2 well I could do without them. And the fireworks were REALLY cool too!! I just love fireworks...I look forward to this time of year every year cuz I get to see so many fireworks!

Hope everyone has a GREAT 4th of July celebration!! :o)

When Harry Met Sally: Movie Love Quote

"I love that you get cold when it is 71 degrees out. I love that is takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Years Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

Isn't this a wonderful quote?! I just love it so I wanted to share it with the rest of you!! :o)

Can I get a nap...please...

Ok so this past weekend was SUPER busy!!!...Last Friday Luke and I played at the pool for awhile and then headed down to Fairview. The drive was incredible!! It took us about an hour but the scenery was beautiful! If you've never been to Fairview you aren't missing much. haha. It's a cute town though...SUPER small! We went there for a party with some of Luke's friends that he works with. It's always fun to meet new people! We just hung out and talked and then played a little Wii. We headed home around 11 and I slept in the car the whole way home. I was so tired!

On Saturday it was 97 degrees...so hott!! So Richard and Allysa (my old roommate until she got married) came over and played at the pool with me and Luke and my roommate Jamie and her boyfriend Jason. The boys and Alyssa played water basketball for awhile. It was funny to watch! :o) Jamie and I got in a little bit but mostly layed out in the sun. Then Luke and I headed off to another party. My friend from work threw a BBQ at her house. It was fun to see people that used to work at my company. The food was really good too! And then off to a reception. I can honestly say I have never been to a reception and wore jeans. haha. But there really wasn't time to change and I had a nice top on so I justified it! But Luke did make a good comment. He said that if they are going to have a problem with us coming in what we were wearing then we don't want to be there anyways. haha. True that. So anyways back to Mike and Christi. I've known Mike a long time so it was so fun to see him all married! They dated for like a year or something before they got married. I thought that that was AWESOME!...I totally agree with taking your time when it comes to dating! Eternity is forever so what's the big hurry! That's what I think anyways. After the reception we met up with Richard and Allysa and went and saw Get Smart. It was a funny movie. Not my favorite (Luke always makes fun of me for saying that...but i only say it when it's true! haha) Everyone else really liked it though...so what do I know...haha. I'm pretty sure I feel asleep on our way home Saturday night too. haha.

And then Sunday...well since I was so tired I accidentally slept in and was a little late for Ward Council...woopsie... I'd like to say I relaxed on Sunday but I was pretty busy...so by Sunday night I was SUPER tired and crashed as soon as my head hit the pillow! haha

In all it was a REALLY fun weekend though. Just really busy. On another note my birthday is in 2 weeks TODAY (July 8th)...yeay...I'm going to be 19 yeay for me...just thought I would let everyone know! :o)

The Sunny Weekend...

Well it's soooo wonderful to see that we have hit summer. Lorie (my roommate) and I decided that since we had nothing to do all weekend we would lay by the pool and get a some sun...and boy did we...haha...She fried her back pool girl!! I got really red and then the next day it was gone...maybe now I'll tan. I was super scared to go out in the sun though...for those of you who don't know about 2 months ago I decided to hit up the tanning beds because I was going to Cali for a for my best-friend's (Alyssa Wilson Beers) wedding and the dress she wanted me to wear (I was a brides-maid), I thought would look better if I had a tan. Well things did NOT go according to plan. I ended up with 2nd degree burns on 80% of my body. It was the strangest thing because I had been tanning before and I only went for 12 min. Well I was not able to walk for a couple of days and I was put in Steroids for 5 days to reduce the swelling...it was miserable!! So needless to say I have been a little apprehensive to go out in the sun. But I sucked it up and went tanning and got a little burnt...haha...but it's gone now!

So last Friday was Friday the 13th...scary...I watched The Eye with Luke...he however was no fun because 20 min into the movie he was fast asleep...he was just a little tired! Anyways...the movie had a few jumpy parts, but other then it was a bust! I was expecting WAY more then I got and it was a little slow! I wanted to get really good and scared because it was Friday the 13th...I was disappointed...oh well. Live and learn as they say! Not really sure who "they" are...but apparently they are very smart...haha...

This Sunday I called my dad to wish him a Happy Father's day and our conversation lasted maybe 10 min. For those of you who don't know my dad...he is just not a talker whether it's in person or over the phone. Normally I have to force him to listen to all my stories...he's so funny but I sure do love him lots!!

First...

Well I thought this would be a fun way for my friends and family to know what I'm up too these days. Things are great for me right now! I'm about to move August 25th to a new great place. And I'm SUPER excited about it!!! I took the summer off school to earn some $. But I will be back at UVSC (soon to be UVU) in the fall. I still work full-time for a law firm in Provo.

I am so grateful for the many blessing in my life. I have a great family that supports me even when they don't necessarily agree with my decisions. And I have great friends in my life that have become such a positive force in my life. They light up my life!!
