Thanksgiving Dinner for 1

Ok, so I know that it's not "socially" acceptable to be ok with being alone...but I am. I mean don't get me wrong I would like to get married and have a family of my own like most of my friends...but...I have recently discovered that I am happy even though I am alone. The holiday season is always a hard one to do alone. But tonight I will be having Thanksgiving dinner alone. I miss my family terribly but I am actually kinda looking forward to having dinner on my own. It's all about making lemonade out of lemons. I have TONS of homework to do so I will be working on that and fixing a turkey dinner for 1.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord has a plan for me. I know who I am and for the first time in my life I know exactly where I'm going. Every once in a while I do get a little sad about being alone but then I have a little talk with my mom and she reassures me that I never would have been able to do all I have been able to do if I had a family. And she just tell me to be patient and things will happen in their own time...aka the Lord's time :o)...

I have a WONDERFUL life and I love living it!!! So to all my friends that I know worry about me...I'm a very happy person!! And thank you so much for caring about me. It was my Stake President that told me: "Be patient...Eternal things take time!" So here I sit as patient as possible! I know that things will work out just the way they are suppose to as long as I keep doing everything I am supposed to be doing.

Here's to those of us doing homework on Thanksgiving! Honestly, I echo everything you just said. I've spent most of Thanksgiving alone (my roommate's parents are arriving tonight to have dinner when she gets off of work) and it's been great. I think there's something very, very healthy in learning to be okay with being alone. I know that for some girls getting married at 19 is part of the Lord's plan for them, but I'm actually really glad that I've had these extra years of amazing experiences and opportunities.

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck surviving the semester!

Way to have such a great attitude. I remember the fortune cookie message I still have on my rear view mirror..."Be patient. Good things come to those who wait!" I still love that. I can tell that you have an awesome attitude and good things are in store for you. Your awesome. I'll be in WA until the 21st. If you will be there, we should hang out.

Mariah! Nice blog! And I'm so glad that you found me! I'll have to add you as one of my "Peeps!" :)

Anyway, have a wonderful rest of the weekend, and I'm glad to hear that your Thanksgiving was a satisfying one! :)

You could have totally come to Idaho with me! You gotta keep me in the know about these things...although the homework think might have been a little hard without internet access (who would have known those places still exist!)
